The Best Folding Meditation Bench (Plus Learn How to Make a DIY Bench)

The Best Folding Meditation Bench (Plus Learn How to Make a DIY Bench)

If you are constantly on-the-go and have a life that involves lots of traveling, you will not want to neglect your meditation practice.

That’s because meditation helps to keep you calm and manage the stress that comes with having to change locations frequently along with the hectic pace that comes with airports as well as other forms of travel.

Fortunately, folding meditation benches are really portable. You can easily store them inside of a tote bag, backpack, or suitcase, and then unfold them to use in public parks or hotel parks.

Even if you don’t do a lot of traveling, folding meditation benches are also good to meditate in nature or take with you to your yoga class.

Carry it inside your backpack while riding on the bus or throw it into your car and you can also meditate in the woods, on the beach, in the park, or anywhere else you want to enjoy nature. Allow the peaceful sounds of nature to fully enhance your meditation sessions.

Also, folding meditation benches are good for smaller homes and cramped apartments where you don’t have enough room to set up a dedicated meditation area.

Once you are finished meditating, you can just easily fold the bench up and store it underneath the bed, in a closet or a drawer without it taking up a lot of space. (Check out the seiza meditation benches if you normally meditate at home and space is not a big issue.)

Jurre Mattheeuwse’s DIY Meditation Bench

I found Jurre Mattheeuwse’s story incredibly interesting as his mom does yoga and asked her son for a meditation bench, so he made her one. This video details the process that he used to make a DIY meditation bench.

He used an old table from his grandfather (his mom’s dad), which made the entire experience and final product much more special.
